Mayser welcomes new junior employees from different training programmes
Not only robotics, but also the new apprentices are an important part of Mayser’s success story. The company was able to welcome a total of twelve new apprentices and one dual student on September 1st.
Two days were reserved for getting to know each other. On the first day, the “newbies” were welcomed by second- and third-year apprentices as well as works council chairwoman, human resource manager, training supervisor and training commissioner. Among them industrial management assistants, a specialist for warehouse logistics, industrial mechanics, process mechanics for plastic and rubber and also a dual student of engineering economics. Also on the agenda was a plant tour during which the young colleagues could see how Mayser products are manufactured. They were fascinated by the variety of fields, but also the future topic of human-robot collaboration.
"Despite the amount of information, the focus was on getting to know each other," Training Supervisor Ralf Michael said. The two introduction days were very diversified and offered all those involved lots of fun and enough room for questions.
The welcome speech was accompanied by a special highlight. Since Mayser trains specialists and executives for its own demand, apprentices are already learning about responsibility and social competence in individual projects. The first day included the project "First day of training – first posting" and thus launched the Facebook appearance of Mayser. The previous apprentices developed text and images for this and put the post online themselves.
After these two days, the new introduction programme "First Step 2017" of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce started and prepared apprentices for their training from Tuesday to Thursday. "Only then will the newcomers go to their respective competent departments," Ralf Michael added.
The Mayser team wishes its new apprentices a good start and an exciting time full of variety!
