Mayser winner with ultrasonic safety for workpiece protection
The ROBOTICS AWARD has been presented for the seventh time. This year, Mayser is among the winners of the prestigious prize which is presented by HANNOVER MESSE in cooperation with Industrieanzeiger and Robotation Academy.
The ROBOTICS AWARD is held in high esteem in the field of automation solutions. It is under the aegis of Olaf Lies, Minister for Economy, Labour and Transport of Lower Saxony. The top-class and independent jury – made up of eight experts from industry and science – places importance on distinguishing innovations and significant advancements with this prize. They additionally take into consideration whether solutions are market-ready or already proven in the industry. They are intended to represent technological and economic progress and make an important contribution to the satisfaction of industrial or social needs.
Mayser meets these requirements with its ultrasonic safety for workpiece protection for cobot applications. “The ultrasonic safety now enables safe and efficient cooperation between staff and robots,” explains Thomas L. Zawalski, who gladly accepted the prize in Hannover.
For the jury, it was decisive that the new development is already type-tested and approved for personal protection. The product can, for instance, be used at workstations with collaborating robots to secure workpieces and tools and also provide protection against pointed or rotating objects. The well-deserved second place was that awarded to the ultrasonic sensor which revolutions cobot applications and ensures more efficiency through higher speeds and longer cycle times in the industrial environment.
