Not quite ready for the “scrap heap”
Sustainability is a major issue – also at Mayser. We look closely at what is still usable and what belongs on the “scrap heap”. In any case, not the nursing care bed that served us well in our product development. The Mayser Works Council in Ulm therefore took the initiative and auctioned off the bed, which was still in good condition, instead of disposing of it.
Of course, the proceeds from the sale – 250 euros – were added to our donation fund, which is disbursed annually to UIm’s aid association for children suffering from tumours and leukaemia.
Viktor Weissenburger and Ferdinand Ischmatow from the development department placed the ad on a classifieds portal. “For us it is obvious that things should not simply be thrown away if they are still in good condition and could be of use to someone else”, says Ischmatow. “The buyer was also very grateful to get something so valuable for such a low price.”
