A corporate volunteering project sponsored by Mayser promotes the personal development of the company’s apprentices while simultaneously supporting Ulm’s “Aufschnaufhaus”, a temporary home for handicapped children and youths.
During a one-week assignment on a voluntary basis that counts fully as work time the apprentices can decide individually which activities they wish to help out with. The activities range from going for a walk with the residents to playground supervision, or games such as table football, which gives the Aufschnaufhaus staff time for other obligations and ultimately results in financial support. The Mayser apprentices can choose the time of their assignment themselves. Since the demand is highest during school holidays, this is when most apprentices volunteer.
“It is very important to us that young people at Mayser are not only well prepared for their jobs, but also socially competent”, says Ralf Michael, director of training at the Ulm location. “Volunteer work at the Aufschnaufhaus is not only a way for them to do good, but also to experience how valuable it is to be healthy, which changes their perspective on life.” Mayser has supported the Aufschnaufhaus on a regular basis for many years by providing both voluntary assistance and material donations. The corporate volunteering project continues this long-standing cooperation. Are you interested in an apprenticeship at Mayser? More information is available here:
