Distinction as nation’s best milliner
Sinayda Pley achieved the best achievement in the exam for the milliner apprenticeship in 2019. The former Mayser apprentice received the award at the “National Honours Presentation in ICC Occupations” of the German International Chamber of Commerce (GICC) on 9 December 2019 in Berlin. Sinayda Pley was trained in the artisan trade of hat making from September 2016 to July 2019 at the Mayser plant in Lindenberg, under the expert guidance of Training Director Ulrike Aßfalg.
In 2016 Sinayda Pley came to Lindenberg from Aachen to learn her dream occupation. Ulrike Aßfalg never had any doubt about her motivation. That is why she is very pleased about her protégé receiving the award: “It makes me very happy so see how young people develop during their training. And when they put what they learn into practice as successfully as Ms. Pley, that even makes me somewhat proud.” Sinayda Pley continues to pursue her chosen career. Currently she is working at the State Opera in Vienna.
High-quality, comprehensive training is a high priority at Mayser. That is repeatedly evident in the distinctions awarded to the company’s employees. In 2018, a Mayser apprentice was distinguished for outstanding academic achievements during her training as an industrial clerk. In the same year a technical product designer was chosen as the best in her year. For the second time in a row, Mayser also received the “Training Certificate Plus” from the ICC in Ulm.
