Mayser trainees initiate St. Nicholas’ Day fund-raising activity
Social commitment is a tradition at Mayser. Because we regularly support charitable organizations and projects. On St. Nicholas’ Day, first-year trainees initiated a charity drive for Ulm’s hospice. They raised funds by baking cakes for their fellow employees.
As part of a social school project, our trainees Sara Bendl and Etienne Kerimyan collected donations by selling baked goods. The two trainees received active support from the HR department and from their training supervisor Ralf Michael, who also helped out with donations to the St. Nicholas’ Day drive. The baked goods were presented for sale at three locations throughout the company on December 6th. The employees were allowed to serve themselves and make a donation at their own discretion.
At the end of the day, the sale of the baked goods brought in a sum of 254 euros, which was donated to the hospice in Ulm.
The charity drive for Ulm’s hospice served as a substitute for the report normally required of first-year trainees. Instead of a written assignment, the vocational school students were allowed to think up an idea for a charitable activity.
