Interesting conversations between lecture hall and career entry
On 24 October 2018 we sought contact with students at the University of Ulm’s career fair, to make them aware of Mayser as an innovative industrial enterprise and attractive employer in the region. Numerous visitors to our booth resulted in interesting conversations with promising candidates especially in the field of electrical engineering.
The number of visitors to the Mayser booth was significantly higher than in 2017. In addition to a good location, this was certainly also due to the fact that Mayser is no longer perceived as an “old hat shop”, but increasingly as an interesting technological enterprise with an attractive offering for employees, trainees and graduates. The Mayser booth was also visited by numerous first-semester students interested in gaining an overview of the employers in Ulm.
The recruiting experts Dagmar Weigl and Sandra Handerer, as well as Robert Reschke, a project manager for Industry/Public Transport, answered the numerous questions asked by the prospective graduates. “We are already looking forward to the applications. Even if we will have to wait a while for some of them”, said Dagmar Weigl after the event. Conversations with students of electrical engineering were especially interesting for Mayser’s human relations officer, because they are the company’s main target group with respect to recruiting of young talent.
“One of the positive outcomes of the career fair for me was to be able to give an impression of how things really are at our company”, Dagmar Weigl recapitulates. “Many people walk or drive by Mayser every day without knowing what a great company we are.”
