Automated transport systems need the USi®
The 17th edition of LogiMAT, the International Trade Fair for Intralogistics Solutions and Process Management, set new records this year for exhibitors and visitors. Some 60,000 visiting experts and 1,624 exhibitors from 42 countries got together in Stuttgart. We too were there, and were able to perceive the continued growth of the industry at our booth. The highlight of our exhibit was once again the USi®.
Our goal at LogiMAT 2019 was to demonstrate how Mayser products make automated intralogistics solutions even safer. That is why our booth was visited by prospective customers from 27 different countries in search of alternatives or supplements to protective systems with laser scanners. Manufacturers of automated transport systems (ATS) depend on ultramodern safety sensors that ensure safe, trouble-free operation. There is a demand for both pressure-sensitive and non-touch sensors for protecting systems against collisions with people and objects. One interesting solution is the use of sensor profiles, which can be mounted on transport systems by the manufacturers themselves. Our experts demonstrated this type of individual and uncomplicated solution to numerous visitors who came to our booth.
USi® bound for success: indispensable technology for modern automated transport systems
Our USi® was once again the focus of interest at our booth. We also received positive feedback from ATS manufacturers. Many of them had already tested the USi® in their transport systems, after which they decided to use them in serial production. The USi® is frequently used for protecting the fork arm, where only minimal installation space is available. Since the USi® is the only sensor on the market that can provide ISO-compliant protection of this area with its very small, freely positionable transducer, it is in high demand in the ATS sector.
Our ultrasonic sensors are also used in other applications besides intralogistics, for example in the closely related areas of robotics and aircraft service. For more information on applications in aviation, please refer to our Review of Interairport 2018.
But not only our German colleagues were able to established new and interesting contacts. Our subsidiaries in France, the USA and China also benefited from the fact that the trade fair is attracting more and more international visitors and exhibitors.
Our summary of LogiMAT 2019: We experienced a very successful trade fair, where we were able to convince visitors not only with our exhibits and our expertise, but also with our well-organised booth concept. We are already looking forward to LogiMAT 2020!
