The positive economic developments require reconstruction
Ulm 12/05/2017 – The Mayser group with nearly 400 employees in Ulm numbers among the leading manufacturers of tactile sensors and has a great reputation for the development of innovative products and individual solutions for cars, industry and public transport. The growth dynamic of the company requires a spatial expansion in the next few years.
Mayser is at home at the Ulm location in the Örlinger Strasse, but the possibilities of expansion are exhausted there. “We already had to outsource departments,” Thomas L. Zawalski, Managing Director at Mayser, explained. The logistics centre moved to an Ulm industrial area last year and there is also a shortage of space for offices, meeting rooms and production.
Investment for competitive capacity and growth
“We also want to strengthen our market position and further expand it in the future,” said Zawalski, who just received a prestigious award in the automation solution sector in Hannover. The ROBOTICS AWARD was awarded for the latest development, a safe ultrasonic sensor for the protection of work pieces in the cobot area. A deserved award for the ultrasonic safety which revolutionises industry applications and enables safe and efficient cooperation between humans and robots. “We are furthermore striving for market leadership through profit-yielding products with a unique position. We make investments for this purpose.” Seven-figure investments were already made at the Lindenberg location this year. “But we must also merge our Ulm locations again and make an optimal plan for a building complex in line with our requirements. This should be state-of-the-art in function as well as technology.”
Mayser is certain that the company will stay in the economic region of Ulm/Neu-Ulm. The group is currently negotiating with the city of Senden regarding a location in the local commercial area.
