You social background should not make a difference
Since 2015, Mayser has been awarding a German National Scholarship to fledgling scholars attending Ulm University who have distinguished themselves by their exceptional academic performance prior to and during their studies. Mayser has now decided to grant the same scholarship to students enrolled at the region’s other major institute of higher learning: New-Ulm University.
“We attach paramount importance to promoting the young and furthering their education”, explains Winfried Wanka, Member of the Executive Board - HR & Legal Department. A German National Scholarship sponsors young academics with money raised by both private benefactors and the German government - independent of the income available to the student or the aid they are receiving through Germany's Federal Training Assistance Act. “One of our foremost concerns to give young and skilled talents the assistance they need to realise their full potential - regardless of their social background.” By the way, the criteria for selection comprise more than just good marks. Other aspects factored into the decision are the students’ willingness to commit themselves and to take on responsibility.
The study programmes Mayser sponsors at Ulm University are of a technical nature and include electrical engineering or automotive engineering. Students who wish to apply for the scholarship must be enrolled in business informatics or industrial engineering.
