Mayser celebration and opening ceremony in Belleville
In 2008, when Mayser opened the first subsidiary outside of Europe in Belleville, Michigan, that was a big step for the company. Our courage paid off: Since 2012 Mayser has its own production capacities there, currently with a total of 140 employees in production and sales. The employees, together with their families and business partners, celebrated this success and the 10th anniversary of Mayser USA on August 25 in a very successful event. The highlight of the day was the official opening of the new company premises.
The guests, who numbered about 100, included Mayser’s managing director Julius Rummel, the two partners Monika von Lintel and Angelika Zechbauer-Gillermeister, the members of management Winfried Wanka, Thomas Eckmann and Ulrich Seidel, as well as business partners from the region.
The activities offered something for everyone: after a cordial greeting with a small present for all of the guests, a tour of the company gave the visitors the opportunity to visit the new production hall with an area of more than 4,600 m². Afterwards, Julius Rummel and the CEO of Mayser USA William Fournier addressed a few words of welcome to the guests and presented certificates to eight of the US employees for five years of employment with the company. For food and refreshments, the guests were served a Mayser birthday cake and Mayser cupcakes, in addition to a savory barbecue. Activities for the youngsters included face painting and a visit from Spiderman. A local jazz band provided the musical entertainment. An unplanned item on the agenda was an air show at the nearby airport. “Thunder Over Michigan” lived up to its name as the Air Force Thunderbirds flew over in a dazzling and loud performance, to the brief amazement of the party guests.
At the conclusion of the successful celebration, William Fournier summed up the positive development of Mayser USA with the following words: “To be able to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Mayser USA is a privilege for me. Although it cannot compare with Mayser’s long tradition in Germany, it doubtlessly demonstrates the persistence and longevity of the Mayser Group. I believe that everyone enjoyed the time spent together and hope that we will be able to celebrate many more anniversaries together. I would also like to express my appreciation for the dedication of the Mayser team on both sides of the Atlantic for the success of our company.”
